Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Disability Services is to provide excellent support for the myriad accommodation needs of students and employees with a disability and or chronic medical conditions for Emory University and its affiliates by:
- Ensuring that all University goods, services, programs, facilities,
and privileges are meaningfully accessible;
- Promoting and monitoring disability compliance under the Americans
with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, and other federal, state, and local disability anti-discrimination
laws;
- Serving as a clearinghouse on grievance matters;
- Embracing and fostering the spirit of diversity through a philosophy
of disability awareness to all members of the University;
- Affirming, inspiring, and nurturing self-empowerment to enable persons with disabilities to maximize their abilities/ potential and not their disabilities.
