Emory University Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)

The Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provides professional counseling and consultative services designed to enhance the health, performance and well-being of individuals and organizational units, while also fostering a greater sense of community.

Occupational Injury Management

The Occupational Injury Management (formerly Office of Workers' Compensation) is a value-added service of Emory HealthCare and Emory University, committed to the pursuit of a quality work environment free from recognized health, safety and environmental risks in compliance with applicable regulations. We believe that a healthy, productive work force and safe working environment are critical to Emory's mission of excellence.

Our mission is to provide direct access to comprehensive, cost-effective quality care for employees with occupational injuries or illnesses. Evaluation, treatment and case management of workplace injuries are delivered by occupational health experts committed to optimizing an injured employee's recovery.

Services include:

  • Recordkeeping in accordance with the Standards of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing, the Occupational Health & Safety Administration(OSHA), and applicable state and federal laws;
  • Clinical care; including assessment; diagnosis; management; and documentation of occupational illness and injury, including post-exposure assessment and management of biological and chemical exposures;
  • Clinical case management of occupational illnesses and injuries;
  • Expertise and education in the identification, monitoring and reduction of health hazards in the workplace (e.g. ergonomics);
  • Health hazard assessment and surveillance of employee populations, workplaces and community groups;
  • Analysis of illness and injury episodes and trends;
  • Collaboration with Safety to promote and protect employee health and safety;
  • Compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment;
